Insurance
Medical and dental services in the United States are not nationalized and expenses are high. The University requires all non-immigrant F-1/J-1 students to be enrolled in a comprehensive health insurance plan with coverage for sickness, accident, medical evacuation and repatriation. This insurance is necessary to protect students against large medical and hospital expenses for treatment and care. The International Student Affairs Office will enroll international students in a special health care plan payable at registration. (See Estimated Annual Expenses). Dental and eye care are not covered by the insurance. Students who are already covered under a health plan that would extend throughout their stay in the United States may submit documentation to request a waiver of the NKU plan.
